Communiversity Youth Program celebrates 25th year of continuing service to Chapel Hill and Carrboro Community

The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History will host the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Communiversity Youth Program on Friday, April 21, 2017. The celebration will honor the accomplishments of the 2016–2017 Communiversity Youth Program student participants while also paying tribute to 25 years of improving and protecting the lives of youth in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro communities. The celebration will include recognition of the new face of Communiversity, former UNC and NBA star Brendan Haywood, recognition of Communiversity volunteers/supporters from past and present, presentation of awards, and a keynote address from former Communiversity Youth Program participant, author and attorney Tyechia White.

Join us as we share and celebrate 25 years of the Stone Center's cornerstone program, paying tribute to UNC’s tradition and commitment to serving the children in communities across our state and continuing to honor the commitment, dedication, and spirit of Dr. Sonja Haynes Stone. A reception will follow the celebration.
