Dr. McNeil’s legacy of scholarship and advocacy is honored through this lecture series, with past speakers including Vincent Brown, Marcia Chatelain, Charlie Cobb Jr., Beverly Guy-Sheftall, Ibram Xolani Kendi, and Gerald Horne. Don’t miss this insightful evening celebrating African American history and scholarship.\nAbout Dr. Keisha Blain: Dr. Keisha N. Blain, an innovative historian, is a Professor of Africana Studies and History at Brown University. A Ph.D. graduate from Princeton University, she’s recognized for her impactful research on race, gender, and politics globally. Dr. Blain, a columnist for MSNBC, and former president of AAIHS, received the 2022 Guggenheim Fellowship and Andrew Carnegie Fellowship. Author of award-winning books like “Set the World on Fire” (2018) and “Until I Am Free” (2021), she co-edited influential collections, including the #1 New York Times Best Seller “Four Hundred Souls” (2021). Dr. Blain’s writing appears in major publications, and she provides commentary on international, national, and local media outlets.
